null If I am unemployed because of COVID-19, do I have to serve the waiting week?

The waiting week has been waived for COVID-19 related claimants. Previously, the waiting week was a required non-payable week that needed to be served on new benefit years. Now the waiting week is waived, which would allow the first week claimed to be a payable week. The system had an error processing early applications, and the payments did not go out as scheduled. We are working on a solution now. You will be paid when it is resolved and payments are processed. Please continue to file weekly claims.
