Overview

Private sector industries may include manufacturing facilities, small businesses and privately owned businesses. As a private sector employer, you may qualify for FREE confidential safety consultations, health consultations and the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) which are all explained below.

The Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) can provide your company with a FREE confidential safety consultation. By using our no-cost consultation service, employers can identify and address potential hazards in their workplace and establish or improve safety and health programs. Our goal is to help you develop a safe work environment. The confidential process involves a walk-through safety evaluation of your business, a report of findings, and a follow up-visit. We provide:

  • Advice from skilled consultants
  • Assistance with development of a safety program
  • Safety training

Reviews OSHA 300 logs, pertinent written programs, and performs a walkthrough of the location to identify workplace health hazards. Air and noise sampling is used to determine employee exposure to air contaminants and noise levels.

To apply for a free safety consultation, fill out the online form below. If you need to use the Spanish version of the form, download the form and send via email to KDOL.IndSafetyHealth@ks.gov.
